This is a short film I developed for my art portfolio in 2022. I wanted to explore the themes of cutting ties with someone and the red string of fate. I wanted to frame this “dissolution of marraige” as the oversimplification of a relationship. The masks we wear that express or hide us away were other themes of identity explored. The hand that guides us is sometimes the one of abuse or control, I wanted to merge this with the idea of the red string of fate. Is it fate? or maybe possesion? Scissors being a visual and metaphorical motif led me to a graphic design choice of magazine letter cutouts.
